Let’s face it: self-publishing isn’t for everyone.
Think you’ve got what it takes? Take our quiz below!
Keep in mind that self-publishing is hard work. It would behoove you to treat your book not as your ticket into the world of red carpets and infinity pools, but like a business. And don’t forget to bump some quality jams while you run it.
Do you agree with your result? Are there any other questions you’d ask a potential self-pubber? Is there a different Kanye West quote you think is pertinent to the self-publishing industry? Sound off in the comments!

One of the questions an author must ask himself is . . .how do you handle criticism? If you believe in your book and your message, criticism will not harm you. Or stop you.
When I became a professional writer 5 years ago, I never gave it thought to the idea I might self-publish one day. Today, with all the possibilities out there for writers, I am starting to research what it would take because I want to be open to different options to support my future writing success.
Great post!
Take care,

Take it slow, learn as much as you can, edit and edit, and take all the options you have. Be ready before jumping into the marketing pot, is changing and changing. Metadata changing, e-book store changing. Watch the grabbers, learn for them. Use your money on your project, the book, writing, editing, formatting, cover, ISBN, copyright. OWN YOUR BOOK! Then build the next book! The journey is long and twisting. Beware, could be in a horror story or an adventure. I like to think magical fantasy!

I almost bailed at the first question, since I really write because I’m driven to write. I love seeing characters come alive, and face and overcome challenges.
